Innovation projects

Christie's sits at the intersection of art, culture, and commerce which means the opportunity space for innovation is genuinely interesting.

These projects explore what's next: AR try-ons, virtual galleries, new commerce models. Not all of these shipped. Some were paused due to shifting priorities or resource constraints (that's the reality of innovation work inside a large organisation).

What each project did do was move thinking forward, stress-test assumptions, and create a foundation for what comes next.

Below are selected projects I led or contributed to significantly.

Augmented reality app
Christie’s Salon - The augmented reality (AR) app for jewelry in the art world provides an immersive and interactive experience, allowing customers to visualize pieces in real-time and try them on virtually to assess fit and appearance before purchasing. This innovative approach enhances customer engagement and builds confidence in the buying process.
I led the UX/UI design, branding, and marketing asset concepts focusing on improving the customer experience through virtual try-ons and highlighting intricate design details. Despite its strong potential to boost engagement and sales, the project was put on hold due to business constraints and shifting priorities. Although the app was not launched, the design process provided valuable insights into user needs and highlighted future opportunities for integrating AR technology into the jewelry retail sector.
Christies C3.0 NFT
This project marked Christie’s venture into the NFT space, blending traditional art with innovative digital solutions.

My contributions included creating marketing assets for sales and supporting with design tasks as needed to enhance the overall user experience, working closely with the lead designer.
Walkthrough gallery experience
Conceptual design for a virtual gallery that replicates the immersive experience of viewing art in a physical space, offering clients an innovative and accessible way to engage with art from anywhere in the world.
I created a concept that featured an interactive walkthrough experience, providing detailed artwork information for clients who were interested. It was specifically designed to attract high-value auction clients. This idea was presented to the consignment team as a potential tool to enhance client engagement and drive sales. While the platform is not live yet, it was developed with future implementation in mind, ensuring seamless integration when the opportunity arises.
Watch shop
A curated online platform for luxury watches, designed to offer a seamless shopping experience for collectors and enthusiasts. The site blends elegant design with intuitive navigation, making it easy for clients to discover and purchase exceptional timepieces.

I supported the lead designer on this project, contributing to the discovery phase through competitor benchmarking, user flows, mobile screen designs, and internal user testing to refine the shopping experience.

Virtual online gallery
Interactive virtual gallery concept to showcase curated artwork in an immersive, digital environment.

Using Principle, I prototyped key interactions, including seamless navigation and dynamic artwork displays, to bring the concept to life. This design was developed as a forward-thinking solution for enhancing client engagement and broadening accessibility to high-value art collections.
Art ready to take home
Augmented reality app
Christie’s first-ever art-focused "Buy Now" platform, featuring a curated selection of Andy Warhol prints, was designed to offer a seamless, user-friendly shopping experience.

I led the design process and collaborated closely with the development team to successfully launch the platform via Webflow. This four-month pop-up shop achieved outstanding success, with 100% of the featured artwork sold.
